Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to hire Insurance Agency 911?

1

Insurance Agency 911 was created to help independent agencies overcome staffing challenges—not to maximize profits. Our hourly rate is intentionally set well below the current market cost of hiring an experienced licensed insurance professional. In addition to providing immediate staffing support, you gain the benefit of more than 45 years of insurance industry experience in agency operations, sales, underwriting, and management.

If you know about your staffing need in advance, simply contact us to schedule a consultation. Together, we will:

  1. Review the responsibilities that need to be covered.

  2. Arrange training on your agency management system and workflows.

  3. Schedule time for us to work alongside your employee before their absence, ensuring a smooth transition.

If your need is unexpected due to illness, resignation, or another emergency, contact us immediately. We will work with you to develop a plan, quickly become familiar with your systems, and begin assisting your clients with as little disruption as possible.

How can you write new business if you are not appointed with all of my carriers?

3

North Carolina General Statute § 58-33-40 allows a licensed insurance producer to submit business to an insurer before a formal appointment has been filed, provided the insurer files the producer's appointment within 15 days after receiving the first insurance application.

When an assignment is scheduled in advance, your agency can often arrange appointments with key carriers before services begin. Many insurance companies allow agency administrators to complete producer appointments online in just a few minutes, eliminating the need for paper forms. In emergency staffing situations, appointment requests can be submitted as the need arises.

It is also important to note that most temporary staffing assignments involve servicing existing clients rather than writing new business. As a result, carrier appointments are often unnecessary for the majority of the work performed.

How can you service my agency's accounts without being appointed by my carriers?

4

North Carolina law allows a licensed insurance producer to service existing insurance accounts on behalf of an insurance agency that is properly appointed with the insurer, even if the individual producer is not separately appointed by every carrier. Insurance Agency 911 is fully licensed in North Carolina to transact Property & Casualty, Life, and Health insurance.

If you make a mistake, will my agency's Errors & Omissions (E&O) policy be responsible?

5

No. Insurance Agency 911 maintains its own professional Errors & Omissions insurance with $1,000,000 in coverage. This provides an additional layer of protection and helps reduce your agency's exposure while we are providing services.

Our preference is to work in your agency's office. Being on-site allows us to integrate with your staff, access your systems efficiently, and provide the highest level of service to your clients. If an on-site assignment is not practical, we are happy to discuss remote support options when appropriate.

How do you help train new insurance producers?

7

Success in insurance sales requires far more than obtaining a license. New producers typically need three things:

  • Practical industry experience

  • A solid understanding of insurance coverages and risk analysis

  • A proven sales and prospecting process

Drawing on more than four decades of experience in insurance sales, commercial underwriting, marketing, product development, and agency management, we provide practical, one-on-one coaching that accelerates a producer's development. Our training combines technical knowledge with proven sales techniques, helping new producers build confidence, develop strong client relationships, and consistently generate new business.
